WHAT'S IN A NAME?

Taking a detour off the dusty old trail today. The Missus
promises more on the bovine hide in the next post.

Some of you varmints may be wondering how we, here
in the Legendary Leather household, come up with some of
the alias names we use in our blog. Others may not realize
how mind-boggling it can be to identify a person by their
personality and presence in a western sort of way.

I must admit that the easiest ones by far are those who have
a SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) alias already established.
Jed Irons, Tupelo Flash, Sinistral Kid, and Blademan (Mr. Legendary
Leather himself) have all made an appearance here in the blog.

But how about those friends, family members, neighbors, and kindly
customers who have no connection to the old west? How do
we go about giving them an alias here in our blog?

Take "Mr. Wild Game Hunter" for instance. He's an uncle to the
Missus and an avid deer hunter . . . hence the name.

How about "The Dakota Kid"? Kindly neighbor who generously
donated to Mr. Legendary Leather's antler stash . . .
originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

"Mr. Hot Tamale" from New Mexico was a stretch, but
still well loved. He can never get enough of the family's
homemade tamales every Christmas.

And how about "Frontier Rose"? Special friend and coworker
of the Missus from her Disneyland days working in Frontierland.
That one came a bit easier than others.

I'm supposin' that some of you varmints can now put your minds at ease
knowing that if you should someday make an appearance in the
Legendary Leather blog, your name will be changed to protect
the guilty . . . . uhm . . . er . . . I mean, the innocent.

ANOTHER MYSTERY PROJECT REVEALED . . .

Remember this?

Crazy, huh? Well, Mr. Legendary Leather has teased you long enough.
Final adjustments have been made and the final photos are in . . .

Leapin' lizrds! By golly, it's a plant/pot holder! Now which one
of you varmints could have ever guessed that one?

Frontier Rose made a special request of Mr. Legendary Leather.

Her and hubby, Travelin' SIC, new that their old beloved
plant hanger wouldn't last much longer.

So the call went out to Mr. Legendary Leather to create a replacement.

A mighty fine thanks to Frontier Rose and Travelin' SIC for their
encouraging faith in the creative qualities of Mr. Legendary Leather!

MINOR GLITCHES . . .

Even Mr. Legendary Leather comes upon a 'glitch' in the
process here and there. Seems as though you folks
will have to wait for the final pictures involving the
latest mystery project until Mr. Legendary Leather
can meet up with Frontier Rose and make the final fittings.

No worries, the mystery will be revealed
as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the Missus would like to share a
project that Mr. Legendary Leather has been
contemplatin' since last September. The Missus
was helping a very dear couple pack up for a big
move to Oregon. Mr. Al Truistic and Mrs.
Ami Able Truistic are the kindliest two people
you would ever want to encounter. In the process,
Al came upon an old knife in their belongings.
Having no clue as to where the knife came from
and knowing that Mr. Legendary Leather loves
dabbling in the bovine hide, they decided to pass
the knife along to him.

Mr. Legendary Leather took off the handle and contemplated
a mighty long time on what to do with the blade.

Some times the mind needs to clear and make way for new
and exciting things . . . and then the inspirations
can flow. Mr. Legendary Leather cleaned up the
blade and was then inspired to add an elk bone handle
and leather/brass embellishments.

He created a western style stamped sheath to compliment
the newly fashioned blade and handle. Thanks to Mr. and Mrs.
Truistic for their mighty fine generosity and encouraging thoughts
allowing Mr. Legendary Leather to provide another clever
creation for all you collectors out there. The Legendary
Leather Clan wishes them happiness in all they do!
